We’ve all played video games or watched Japanese anime films where a character is stuck with a sword while going up against a foe firing guns. And what happens? The sword cuts through the bullets and protects the character from harm.
This YouTube video successfully attempts to prove once and for all if this is possible or just stuff of legends. They line a 9mm gun up with a Katana sword and watch to see what happens.
It works as well, the sword splitting the bullet in half, which if done correctly could have saved the person being shot at from harm.
The slow motion shots are great as they show the bullet impacting on the blade of the sword and splitting apart. I never thought this would work in real life but it does.
So the next time you’re playing a game on your Ps3, Wii, or Xbox 360 and you’re facing off with a sword, don’t give up hope, you can survive the battle.
