If you had to pick 100 guitar riffs to represent the totality of rock n’ roll, which would you choose?
This video shows a guy from the Chicago Music Exchange playing what is labeled a brief history of rock n’ roll. It’s essentially 100 great guitar riffs played one after the other. And it’s awesome.
The artists featured go right back to Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry, on through The Beatles and The Who, then to Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, and on to Michael Jackson and REM, then Nirvana and the Foo Fighters, and ending with Green Day and The Black Keys. With many more filling in the gaps.
This should be played to anyone looking for an introduction to music, specifically rock n’ roll or songs played primarily on guitar.
