Humans have been creating art for thousands of years, and one of the oldest surviving works of art in the U.K. is The White Horse in Uffington.
This video shows Tom Scott visiting The White Horse, learning a little of its history, and then helping to restore this 3,000-year-old masterpiece.
These days, groups of volunteers hammer new chalk into the ground every single year in an effort to preserve The White Horse and keep it looking its best.
However, the amazing thing is that it’s estimated The White Horse would disappear in as little as 25 years if left alone. Which means people must have been preserving it at least that often for 3,000 years.
