Here is a video of the Adam Sandler Thanksgiving Song in all its glory, if you can call it that. If you’re American and love eating turkey then this is the song for you.
Maybe that’s why I don’t really get it, because I’m British rather than American and am not really partial to turkey either. Which is probably why I don’t find this song funny in the slightest.
I know this song seems to have entered American culture (if you can call it that) and gets played on the radio around Thanksgiving every year but that doesn’t excuse its rubbishness.
Maybe it’s because Adam Sandler himself is overrated and quite unfunny? Or maybe I have an inbred complacency for Thanksgiving purely because I’m British? Nah, believe me, it’s the song.
To me, Thanksgiving is just a glorified Harvest festival anyway, something which most countries around the world have. But the U.S. invented it of course, as they did so many other things.
