Adele had her Best British Album speech at the Brit Awards cut short to let Blur perform. Her response was to stick her finger up at someone, anyone, the producers perhaps. How mature.
I have some sympathy for Adele. She’s just won the biggest Brit award of the year and is then cut off after about a minute of saying not very much. That must rankle just a little.
And how long was she really going to talk for? A couple of minutes at most. Oh no, the advertisers will be angry. How to solve this problem? Don’t show the Brits live, and then it doesn’t matter how long people talk for.
Having said that I do get annoyed with these speeches when they ramble on and on. These people who are getting rewarded for doing their jobs start thanking people none of us have heard of and none of us care about.
