Alec Baldwin has been kicked off an American Airlines flight for refusing to turn off his cellphone. The reason? He was too engrossed in playing Words With Friends to consider complying with the request.
As usual in these cases there are two sides to the story. Baldwin claims he was doing nothing wrong and that the plane was stationary, while American Airlines claims he refused to comply with its rules regarding cellphones.
I’m totally on the side of American Airlines on this one. There are rules in place for a reason, and everyone knows they need to turn their mobile phones off prior to take-off.
Hell, I even sided with Southwest Airlines when it kicked Kevin Smith off a flight as he was too fat. It’s not as though he couldn’t afford two seats to ensure his considerable girth didn’t inconvenience other passengers.
Alex Baldwin needs to grow up.
