Alexander Rybek of Norway Wins Eurovision with “Fairytale” Video

Alexander Rybek of Norway has won the Eurovision crown, taking out the song contest title in a landslide victory.

This fiddling cutie seemed to have every country on side with his sweet self-penned tune, “Fairytale.” Forget what you’ve heard about block voting. From Austria to Azerbaijan everyone sang the praises of charismatic young Alexander.

And he did it all without the Eurovision staples. That’s right: there wasn’t a hint of glitter or spandex, no scantily clad dancing girls, and not even a hint of chest hair!

Perhaps Alexander has ushered in a new chapter for Eurovision, one where real talent wins out of flash or fancy!
