If you missed the 2009 BET Awards, don’t fret. Apparently these cyphers were the only good part of it. Sit back and vibe as some of the greatest rappers rip the mic in this 9 minute compilation of the 2009 BET Cyphers.
Sure, these “freestyles” are pre-written, but who really cares? Even if I rehearsed a million times, I probably wouldn’t be able to emulate any verse that came out of most of these rapper’s mouths.
Then again, Wale’s verse was pretty much garbage compared to Eminem’s or KRS-ONE’s. And although I’m a huge fan of the former Slim Shady (obviously the crowd favorite), the best verse has to go to the currently-unsigned Joe Budden.
