If I was to tell you that all alcoholic drinks made in the United States is radioactive you’d probably call me a liar and stop reading. But I’m not a liar, and you should definitely read on.
As Tom Scott explains in this video, all alcohol consumed in the U.S. literally has to be radioactive, by law, because it has to be distilled from plants.
And like all living things exposed to the cosmic rays, plants contain Carbon 14, which is radioactive.
I’m sure the U.S. Government didn’t know this when they instituted the law stating alcohol cannot be distilled from petroleum, but the fact remains they have ensured we all drink radioactive material. Thanks, Obama!
