Hellcats is a new show on The CW which has the potential to be this year’s Glee, a breakout hit which appeals to all ages. This video features its star, Aly Michalka, talking about the cheerleading show and her role in it.
Many people will already know of Michalka from her appearances in Disney productions. She played Keely Teslow in Phil of the Future and Taylor Callum in the movie Cow Belles. She was also part of the singing duo Aly and AJ, which also featured her sister.
Hellcats is like a cross between Bring It On and High School Musical, being a comedy-drama based on the book Cheer: Inside the Secret World of College Cheerleaders.
I don’t think it’s my kind of show, being a little too cheesy for me. I’ll stick to Glee, which is cheesy, funny, and intelligent in pretty equal measures.
