What better way to celebrate Pi Day than to see Pi interpreted in musical form. In other words, this video shows you what Pi sounds like when played on a number of different instruments by a talented musician.
Today is Pi Day, in case you weren’t already aware. Pi Day has been celebrated since 1989 after it was created by physicist Larry Shaw, making this the 22nd annual Pi Day.
Pi Day is celebrated on March 14 because of the way that date is written in the U.S. – 3/14. 3.14 is the shorthand for Pi, with those three numbers being the most significant numbers of Pi.
How can you celebrate Pi Day yourself? The most obvious and fun way to do so is to eat pie thanks to it being a homophone with Pi. Or you could sit around and talk about Pi and its significance to your kids. I choose the former.
