Until I saw this video, I thought moving vehicles would be the biggest obstacles for skaters. Not for Olivier, who has a rather nasty run in with a parked car.
Wet weather plus skates plus a downhill slope makes for a pretty dangerous equation. It’s almost like this video is happening in slow motion. You know he’s going to hit this parked car no matter how much he tries to avoid it.
Initially I thought he’d walk away unscathed. After all, he’s wearing a helmet, protective gloves, and other kinds of safety gear.
But as he stood up clearly shaken I saw no amount of protection’s going to help you in an accident like this. That gash on his face must have stung! But can you imagine how he’d be without the safety gear? Let that be a lesson to you kids!
