This video begins by slowly moving in on a desk. On the desk are some everyday objects such as a Rubik’s Cube, a sneaker, and a roll of sticky tape. but all is not what it seems.
These are in fact anamorphic illusions, which are drawings drawn in a certain way as to look like 3D objects when viewed from a particular angle. You cannot tell until the paper is spun and the optical illusion is revealed.
These are amazing examples purely because the level of detail in the drawings is stunning. The cat at the end is real, but I wouldn’t put it past this guy to tackle that subject matter next.
As amazing as our brains are they can still be fooled rather easily by optical illusions such as this one. But I for one am grateful for this, as it means there is still room for us to be surprised.
