When artist Toby Jones lost his mother to breast cancer in 2001 his life changed forever. In memory of his mom Toby launched an amazing art project that is still going strong today.
Toby takes casts of actual human breasts and transforms them into beautiful sculptures. For these works he ditched his traditional papier-mâché and plaster for much stronger mediums.
Real breasts might be weak victims of the deadly disease which took his mother, but not Toby’s breasts. His sculptures symbolized the strength and resilience Toby saw in all women.
The works made of tiles, metals, and more are as touching and beautiful as the message behind them.
