Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a parcel? Being carried, pushed, lifted, dropped, and transported between two different locations via a number of other locations?
Me neither. I mean, why would you?
However, someone clearly had thought about it, and endeavored to find out what it was like being a parcel by packaging a Dictaphone up and sending it from London to Helsinki in Finland.
The person responsible was a student at the Royal College of Art, and once the recording had been returned, they animated the trip to coincide with the audio.
The animation is really nicely done, and the audio is surprisingly interesting. Whether I wanted it or not, I now know what it’s like to be a parcel: noisy and uncomfortable.
