If you had a chance to catch SNL last night, no doubt the most memorable performance wasn’t by the cast, but the musical guest Fleet Foxes. Being an old fan of theirs, I was amazed by their performance, but what really converted me was this above live session.
Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Entertainment Weekly and now WebTvHub agree; Fleet Foxes are one of the best live bands to emerge in a long time.
Sub Pop, the band’s label, has a history if giving birth to raw rockers. And producer Phil Ek is also known for working with bands like The Shins. Yet even knowing this, it’s still surprising to find out that bands like this still exist.
Musicians still travel by bus, spontaneously perform in abandon buildings, sing on the street, and refrain from charging $40 for a ticket?! It’s like the 60’s are coming back.
