Most of the items people take to the Antiques Roadshow are pretty much worthless. They may have interesting stories, but they’re worth a few hundred dollars at best.
However, just occasionally, a true gem is uncovered. As is the case here, with a guy discovering the painting his grandparents purchased in the 1930s is worth $1 million.
I’ll be honest and admit I’d never heard of Diego Rivera before, but after seeing this I have a new appreciation for his work.
The story doesn’t end here. This is from an old episode of Antiques Roadshow, and the painting has since been valued at $2 million. Which is even more bonkers.
