With Australia preparing to go to the polls on Saturday, I’ve been saturated by political advertising. Most of these ads attempt to tear down the opposition by questioning their personalities and policies.
After watching so many fear-mongering campaigns, a simple and uplifting political ad like this appears like a bolt from the blue.
This 2006 advertisement was used by presidential candidate Lopez Murphy who hoped to lead Argentina. He didn’t win, but this commercial took out the Silver Lion in Cannes that very year.
It’s so simple and beautiful. There’s no disparaging of his opponents, no cheesy imagery, and no terrible jingles. It’s just got a very clear message, and a clever way of delivering it. This is inspirational stuff.
