The diver who captured this incredible video footage off the coast of New Zealand got more when he bargained for when the octopus he was filming stole his camera!
OK, once the camera is stolen the footage isn’t too riveting. The octopus may be a clever cephalopod, but Stanley Kubrik he ain’t. Thankfully the human commentary added helps to distract us while we’re on tentacle cam.
Stick with it though, because the footage that comes next is some of the best wildlife action I’ve ever seen. I won’t spoil it, but the unexpected turn of events really highlights the personality of this marine creature.
