Besides the possible iPhone killer, this wireless transfer device was also introduced at CES 2009. When the Powermat is made available later on this year it will be compatible with just about any device from laptops, to cell phones, and mp3 players.
But what’s even more amazing is the potential of this technology. What if you could wirelessly “steal” electricity?
Don’t ask me how it works, all I know is that this “magnetic induction” technology is amazing. The fact that it can be embedded into current electronics is pure genius. Finally, a product emerges that will prevent me from ever tripping over my laptop charger again.
Another great thing about it is that you can use different voltages. Which means that buying converters for overseas trips might just be a thing of the past.
