On Monday, Andre 3000 celebrated his 38th birthday. However, the moment was not a joyous occasion because his mother unexpectedly passed away on the same day.
Mrs. Sharon Benjamin, also known as “Ma Benjaman, Ms. B, and Nana,” died at the age of 58 she was a key player in the lives of OutKast during their younger years serving as one of their managers earlier in their career. Sharon Benjamin-Hodo, was reportedly found dead in her Atlanta home. Billboard.com reports that her death was confirmed by a representative for the OutKast member but no details regarding how she died have been released.
Benjamin-Hodo was noted for her work with underprivileged children. She founded the Starlight Camp to continue her efforts. The foundation is run out of the New Morning Light Mission BaptistChurch in Conley, Ga. Her husband, Pastor Robert Hodo runs services at the church.
