TMZ has published video footage of alleged animal cruelty on the set of A Dog’s Purpose.
The footage shows a German Shepherd being pushed into white water against its will. In another scene the dog disappears under the water before being rescued.
The footage has prompted PETA and others to call for people to boycott A Dog’s Purpose. But I personally feel that may be an overreaction.
The dog was scared, but then so would a human actor. He was never actually in danger, because, as you can see in the second shot, there were people on set ready to come to his rescue.
I had never even heard of A Dog’s Purpose before this. Now, not only do I know of its existence, I know I’ll definitely be going to see it when it arrives in theaters.
