Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past month, you’d have heard about Apple’s new product launch, an attempt to make a Tablet PC mainstream. It’s now been unveiled for real after months of speculation.
This video shows Steve Jobs revealing the Apple iPad, its new Tablet PC. The event is still ongoing, and you can watch and listen to it at TWiT Live or get live blog updates at GDGT.
The iPad is very thin, very light, has a battery life of 10 hours, and a multitouch screen measuring 9.7 inches across. All iPhone apps work on the device, which uses a new processor and a new version of the iPhone OS.
If this comes in at under $1,000 then Apple has got it made. The iPod was big, the iPhone was huge, but the iPad could be world-beating. Potentially.
