Here’s your chance to find out, with an iPad tear-down and reassembly. It’s all done in style, with stop-motion animation being used to add a little intrigue to the whole thing.

I’m actually pretty amazed how little goes into the iPad. Once the back has been taken off you can see that the screen is wafer-thin, that the components are small and tightly packed, and that most of the space is taken up by the battery.

Apple is renowned for its design sensibilities, and the reasons why can clearly be seen in the iPad. For what the tablet device is capable of, there’s really not much to it. And that’s all down to Steve Jobs and co.
