As you’re probably aware by now Apple unveiled its new device yesterday. It’s called the iPad, and it is being pitched as a new entry to the market, sitting somewhere between the iPod Touch and the Macbook.
This video shows the announcement of the new iPad in full, with Steve Jobs revealing the product in full in his usual style. Later on, guests revealed the software and apps being designed to work with it.
Unfortunately for Apple reaction to the iPad has been mixed. Most people love how it looks and certain features it boasts. But there is too much missing, including the ability to multitask, a camera, and a carrier other than AT&T.
I’ve no doubt the iPad will sell. The iPod and the iPhone prove Apple cannot be underestimated. However, I think I’ll be waiting until the iPad 2.0 is released in a year or two’s time. Hopefully the issues will have all been resolved by then.
