This video shows a band called Atomic Tom performing a gig on a New York subway train. The difference is that the band is playing their set on iPhones.
It looks as though it’s an impromptu gig, and the video is preceded by a declaration that after having their instruments stolen the band decided to improvise. But this turns out to be false.
In actual fact this is a video that was engineered to go viral, with the band hoping to up their levels of fame. And it’s worked, because not only am I covering it but the video has been watched by more than 1.6 million people this week.
4chan are now threatening to steal the band’s instruments for real after this, but I wouldn’t condone that. Mainly because they’re not half bad, even when they’re just playing on iPhones.
