Asian Carp Jumping Video | Strange Behavior On Wabash River, Montezuma, Indianapolis

32 sec read

I’ve been known to do some fishing in my time. Well, angling, to be exact, as I’ve always placed the fish back in the water, partaking for sport rather than for food or profit.

However, I’ve never experienced this while fishing, which is hundreds of fish jumping out of the water in the wake of a boat. Is this normal? Because it’s not something I’ve ever even heard of.

The fish in question are Asian or Silver Carp, and they are either really happy to see the boat or are sick of living in the water. Most of the fish leap out once the boat has passed, but one actually jumps in to the boat.

Some people regard fishing as a cruel sport, and it obviously can be. However, when the fish start jumping into the boat without actually being caught on the end of a rod cruelty clearly doesn’t come into it.
