AT&T Lollapalooza Censorship Video | Pearl Jam Anti-Bush Lyrics Muted

25 sec read

AT&T was kind enough to show a webcast of Lollapalooza in Chicago on their Blue Room website. But the questionable censorship tactics used during Pearl Jam’s performance have brought forth theories of conspiracy and ulterior motives.

During a cover of the Pink Floyd classic “The Wall”, Eddie Vedder altered the lyrics to voice his opinion about the U.S. president. The first line of his anti-Bush lyrics made it past the censors, but they muted out the following two lines.

AT&T said that the censorship was the work of overzealous monitors, not an effort by the company to edit such things out. Following much protest from viewers, they are now showing the performance with no censorship on their website.
