Today (Nov. 12) is the birthday of Auguste Rodin, described by many as the father of modern sculpture. To celebrate the anniversary, Rodin was awarded his own Google Doodle.
To see the Doodle all you need to do is head to Google during the course of today. It will then be moved to the Google Doodle archive.
This video shows the many celebrated works of Rodin, which include The Gates Of Hell, The Kiss, The Three Shades, The Burghers Of Calais, and The Thinker. The latter being one of the most recognizable pieces of art in existence.
Rodin was born in 1840 and died in 1917. If he were still alive today (by some incredible miracle) he would be 172 years old today. Still, even 77 wasn’t a bad innings in those days.
