I haven’t seen as much buzz surrounding a movie since the Star Wars prequel trilogy was announced. The difference is, of course, that Avatar looks like actually living up to the hype being heaped upon it.
This is a movie review of Avatar from The New York Post, with its chief movie reviewer Lou Lumenick casting a critical eye over James Cameron’s first big movie since Titanic.
Avatar is one of the most expensive movies ever made, so it needs to do fantastic business at the box office just to break even. Thankfully for Cameron and the movie studio, people seem to be lapping up the film, with both audiences and critics giving it the thumbs up.
To me it’s all about the visuals, and I frankly couldn’t care less about the storyline or dialog. If they are good then I see it as a bonus.
