I had never heard of 84 Lumber until yesterday. Now, not only have I heard of them, I know that if I ever need building materials in the U.S. I’ll head there first.
This is because 84 Lumber chose to make a political statement with its ad for Super Bowl LI. That statement being a controversial stance against Donald Trump’s pathetic border wall.
The ad shows a Mexican mother and daughter packing up their belongings before trying to emigrate to the United States. They come up against Trump’s border wall, but someone has built a massive door.
The message is, “The will to succeed is always welcome here”. Unfortunately, Fox deemed the ad too political (and coincidentally contrary to their bias), so the whole thing is only available online.
