Google has launched a new video calling app called Google Duo. This takes a simple approach to video calling, allowing two two people to have a one-on-one conversation.
Google Duo “takes the complexity out of video calling”. Users don’t need to have a Google account, just a phone number. And once it’s set up, a video call can be started with just one tap.
All conversations offer end-to-end encryption, which should stop interested parties from prying on private conversations. There are also a host of measures in place designed to prevent the video call from dropping because of a dodgy network connection.
Google Duo is available on iOS and on Android right now.
