Love or hate (or even have no strong feelings either way) dubstep this video is well worth watching. It shows a guy creating a song on the fly, and doing a fine job of it.
This guy is creating a dubstep track live using a DJ Tech Tool that is essential a pad full of samples ready and waiting to be mixed together. But doing so in an order and tempo that makes it sound good is the challenge.
Dubstep isn’t my first choice of music, but I don’t hate it. Some of the artists are creating tunes that are making their way into the mainstream.
I still feel that playing a real instrument requires more skill and adds more to the creative landscape than this, but that’s not taking anything away from this. I certainly couldn’t do this, and the same is true of most people.
