Awesome Mash-Up Music Video | ThruYou Creates Music From Random Clip Collection

36 sec read

This video is just one of eight that makes up ThruYou, a project by a guy called Kutiman. He searches YouTube for music clips and then mashes them up to create new, original pieces of music. And the result is awesome.

This song is called The Mother Of All Funk Chords, and you can see/hear the rest of the collection on the ThruYou Web site. I’ve seen some cool mash-ups in my time but never someone who has done it to the extent that a whole new song is created.

What’s especially cool about this project is that it takes individual segments of videos that on their own are wholly unspectacular, and arranges them with others to make one complete piece of music that is good enough to be released.

This guy is obviously a genius, and it’s a genius way of utilizing YouTube. While the people who own the original videos have to take some credit, they owe Kutiman a big thanks for putting them on the viral map.
