I always love watching a music video that offers more than the average, and this clip from The SoftLightes definitely fits the bill. It’s for their song “Heart Made of Sound,” and it features some of the best stop-motion animation that I’ve seen.
Absolutely every word uttered in this song is animated. Thank goodness the tune wasn’t an epic like “Bat Out of Hell,” right?
Even in its radio-friendly three-minute format, director Kris Moyes said the clip took 14 days to shoot. He filmed between 25 and 30 words a day, working for nine hours every day.
The shoot was so labor intensive that the art director pulled out halfway through! Thankfully Kris persevered because the results are stunning.
