I don’t know about you, but all those American singing shows are feeling a bit tired. I opted out of Idol early after all of the interesting contestants were shown the door, and now we’ve done with the auditions The Voice seems like more of the same.
After this video I think we definitely need to import a European program called My Name Is, and its Aaron Neville impersonator.
The series sees contestants imitating their musical idols. As you can imagine, there are more Lady Gagas and Elton Johns than you can poke a stick at. And then there are the more left-of-center participants, like this man that idolizes Aaron Neville.
Aaron Neville’s unique vocal stylings are difficult to emulate, but this lad does it well. And his blackface hasn’t even garnered any controversy a la the Red Faces guys!
