New stars are signing up for Bear Grylls’ Celebrity Island, with big names from TV shows Corrie and Breaking Bad joining the line-up.
Ten celebrities will spend four weeks on an island trying to survive in the next installment of the series.
The lineup includes TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh, Olympian Iwan Thomas, former Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, former Breaking Bad star RJ Mitte and former Corrie star Ryan Thomas.
RJ Mitte played Walt Junior, son of Walter White, in the hit television show Breaking Bad. Mitte suffers from a mild form of cerebral palsy.
“RJ loves to challenge himself and this will be right up there,” one source told The Sun. “The tasks the contestants have to complete are very physically demanding and he cannot wait to get stuck in.”
The source said RJ has not been short of acting work since the Breaking Bad series ended, but jumped at the chance to be a part of The Island.
Upcoming castmates Ryan and Lucy have sparked romance rumors in the last few days after making similar posts on social media.
Other stars to make the cast include Rizzie Kicks actor Jordan Stephens, Olympian Sharron Davies, comedian Shazia Mirza, TV doctor Sara Kayat and comedian Mark Watson.
The star-studded cast will be left on an island with just basic tools, enough water to last 24 hours and medical supplies. Five crew members will fight for survival alongside the cast and will live in the same conditions.
Last year’s line-up, which was part of the Stand Up to Cancer programming, included TOWIE’s Lydia Bright, Made in Chelsea’s Ollie Locke and media personality Karen Danczuk.
The cast is already reportedly filming the series in Panama.
The new installment of The Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls will air in the fall on Channel 4.
