Today’s profile of one of the X Factor final twelve is on Beverley Trotman. Beverley is a primary school teacher who has been singing in choirs from the age of four.
Beverley is actually quite a controversial inclusion in the live finals stage, as she is already in a singing group, and is one of the seemingly many contestants to get through on a kind of sob story.
She sings for the award winning (although I’ve never heard of them) Kingdom Choir, which has even performed backing vocals on previous series of The X Factor.
The sob story is two fold, as she wants to “do it for the children” and also because at 37 years old she sees it as her final chance to be successful in the music industry.
This video shows Beverley explaining the reasons for her taking part to presenter Dermot O’Leary… who blubs like a little girl.
Beverley is in Louis Walsh‘ 25 and Over category and should do well. Despite the over egged sob story, she can actually sing, and that should be the focus in the latter stages of the show.
