Creationism = bad, evolution = good. So says Bill Nye. Whoever he is.
I don’t quite understand why this video is hitting so big and creating such controversy. I don’t even know who Bill Nye is, though I guess he’s well known in the U.S.
Even so, he isn’t saying anything that other people haven’t said before. Most scientists and atheists would agree that teaching children creationism and only creationism is damaging.
I feel lucky to have grown up in a country where kids are taught religious education, and that includes respectful knowledge of all religions, and evolution in science. Everybody can then make their own minds up.
The problem Nye has encountered is trying to tell people how to raise their own kids. Parents don’t tend to like that.
