Usually, I couldn’t disagree more with Bill O’Reilly and the whole Fox News camp. This time, though, his heated comments almost seem sensible.
Having 14 children intentionally with no job, no father figure, and refusing welfare isn’t being a “wonderful” mother in my book either.
The above clip aired almost week ago when Nadya Suleman, a 33 year old woman who already had six children, was reported giving birth to eight more children. As the criminal defense attorney argues, this technically isn’t “abuse”, but that doesn’t change the fact that neglect (intentional or not) is bound to happen under such conditions.
The Follow-Up
More recently, Fox has dug up even more information on Nadya; none of which isn’t dirt. As it turns out, the octuplet mother actually had been on welfare for years before and three of her kids had disabilities. What’s even more sickening is the mother’s obsession with Angelia Jolie.
The most upsetting part of the clip has to be the grandmother’s interview where it is revealed she was the one who really took care of Nadya’s six kids- a role she might be forced to continue with even more children. Geez, I know we’re in the land of the “free,” but for god’s sake if you can’t take care of your children don’t have them!
I just hope that no more idiotic women plan to give birth to such an outrageous number of children under these same conditions thinking that books and TV deals will fall into their lap.
