Blake Edwards, the legendary film writer and director, has died at the ripe old age of 88 after developing complications after a bout of pneumonia.
You may not recognize Edwards’ name, but you’ll likely be well aware of some of his work. This is the man who brought us the Pink Panther movies, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, 10, and Victor/Victoria. And he’ll be sorely missed from the movie industry.
This video, meanwhile, shows Edwards receiving an honorary Oscar in 2004, presented to him by Jim Carrey with the citation, “In recognition of his writing, directing and producing an extraordinary body of work for the screen.”
Edwards leaves behind his wife, Julie Andrews, and five children from both his marriages.
