Another day, another controversy over something someone said. This time it’s Ben Carson, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, getting it in the neck.
Carson’s crime was to refer to slaves as “immigrants”. This one line caused certain quarters of the internet to go into meltdown.
Ben Carson is odd, there’s no mistake about that. So much so he might have made an even worse POTUS than Donald Trump. However, I don’t think this criticism is deserved.
Carson said one word slightly out of place, and for that he’s being hauled over the coals. Technically, slaves were immigrants, albeit unwilling immigrants. As Carson will be acutely aware.
