Here’s a news story that seems funny until you actually realize that it’s real.
This poor 11 year-old was actually punished for passing gas on a bus and laughing about it- the bus driver apparently didn’t have a sense of humor.
“Thinks it’s funny to pass gas in the van” is probably the stupidest written reason for giving detention, yet that is exactly why Christian Summers was punished. I haven’t been to public school in years (thank god), but some things never change.
It almost reminds me of the time I was given 3 days of detention for allegedly swearing at a teacher when I was known around the school as “the boy who never cusses.” Even after I had the whole class sign a petition, I was still forced to do the time.
If you ask me, public schools have an unfair amount of power when it comes to discipline.
