Bradley Manning has been cleared of aiding the enemies of the United States, but still faces up to 136 years in jail for crimes related to the leaking of classified materials.
Manning is a young U.S. soldier who passed thousands of government files to WikiLeaks. He was caught in the act when he was just 22 years old and now faces the real possibility of spending the rest of his life in prison.
Despite being cleared of the most serious crime he’s charged with, Manning was found guilty on more than a dozen other charges, including violating the Espionage Act.
His supporters claim Manning is nothing but a whistleblower who shouldn’t be put inside, but others feel he is nothing but a traitor who set out to harm the American war effort.
