Anyone of a certain age will remember when Public Service Announcements (PSAs) were cheap, cheesy, lecturing diatribes which no one bothered to pay attention to. Because they were so crap.
But things have changed, with governments and local authorities now using advertising agencies to produce proper, glossy, informative ads which get the message across in a more basic, easier to understand way.
This PSA is simple to the extreme, but it contains a powerful message about road safety. The fact that there are people who still don’t wear their seatbelts when driving shows how useless some of the old ads have been.
The added bonus of making ads which look good is that they’re picked up online, becoming viral video hits which end up being seen by million more people than they otherwise would have. Which should save lives.
