I’m shocked, and not in a good way. When I heard that Britney Spears would be opening for the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards, I was intrigued.
After being such a tabloid favorite for the past year or so, I was half expecting Britney Spears to come out onto the stage with her short-short hair (growing out from when she shaved her head) and a syringe hanging out of her arm.
Instead, my eyes saw a surprisingly ordinary performance of the song “Gimme More” by this nutcase that is Britney Spears. She lip-synched with the best of them, danced around a little, and didn’t impress. I bet the boys loved her half-nakedness, though.
