Like Marmite, Guinness is very much a love it or hate it thing. If you’re not a fan after your first pint of the black stuff then you’re unlikely to ever be a fan of the drink.
Those of us who love Guinness, of which there are millions around the world, can today celebrate Arthur Guinness Day, which commemorates 250 since the man behind the drink set up the brewery.
This advert points out the obvious, that each Guinness glass actually tells you it has been 250 years thanks to the “Estd. 1759” on the logo. And then plays a global game of Chinese whispers with some funny results.
Now, all I need to do is get my work done early today so I can go out for a few pints of Guinness. Which is exactly what the makers of the drink wanted from this day. That’s powerful advertising for you.
