After writing online for several years I have seen various nasty comments directed my way. I take them in my stride now, but if they were more numerous, as celebrities encounter, I may find it harder.
With Twitter, Celebrities have opened themselves up to direct communication in a way they never have before. You can tweet about celebrities or even message them directly, and they may see it, or possibly even respond.
The problem is that most people would rather say negative stuff about famous people than positive stuff. Most celebrities have developed thick skins, but what if they were to read all these comments?
Jimmy Kimmel thought he would see how they’d cope. The best by far is Will Ferrell reading a couple of tweets about himself while sitting on the toilet. Only he could do such a thing and look classy with it.
