Chelsea have won the UEFA Champions League, beating all-comers including Bayern Munich in the final. No one saw that one coming at the start of the season.
Chelsea began badly, going a goal behind before Didier Drogba scored an equalizer in the 88th minute. The English team also started the penalty shootout poorly, missing the first attempt.
However, in the end the London side came away from Munich as the winners, beating Bayern in their home stadium. Drogba fittingly netted the final penalty needed for Chelsea to win the trophy.
Chelsea are now the champions of Europe for the first time in their history. And they even managed a double, winning the FA Cup as well. Surely stand-in manager Roberto Di Matteo should now be given the job permanently.
