Who could possibly forget Cher Lloyd on The X Factor. Some people loved her, some hated her, but everyone was aware of her. And now she’s back.
This is Swagger Jagger, Cher Lloyd’s debut single. It’s exactly the sort of song I expected Cher Lloyd to bring out, being a mixture of young pop and pretend hip-hop. It’s not my cup of tea personally, but it could be many other people’s.
As someone has pointed out in the comments on YouTube, the chorus is nothing more than a reworking of My Darling Clementine, and it doesn’t work for me and doesn’t fit in with the rest of the song.
Having said that, some of it is pretty catchy, and Lloyd will no doubt appeal to young girls who already look up to the likes of Cheryl Cole and Lady Gaga. Good luck to her, I say.
